This thesis was developed as part of my third year of a bachelor's degree in object design. It explores the potential of stale bread as a noble material in object design.

A staple food with strong cultural, sensory, and historical symbolism, bread is now experiencing a decline in value due to industrialization and massive waste.

However, when removed from its culinary context, it reveals plastic and expressive qualities that make it a resource ripe for reuse.

Drawing on the concepts of upcycling, functional waste, and material art, this work explores how technology can transform waste into a sustainable and meaningful material.

An analysis of existing initiatives shows how technical refinement can restore the symbolic value of a material.

The project culminates in the creation of a composite made from stale bread and natural binders, intended to design an object that revives the enchantment of bread through its narrative and evocative power.
